Beyond Standard Model (BSM) model building seeks to use effective field theory (EFT) approach to uncover the set of principles which determine how Nature behaves at a shorter distance scales than the Standard Model (SM) and to address one or more puzzles in the SM. Therefore, it is essential to understand the constraints that guide their construction and their phenomenological consequences. In this talk, we review the importance of Naturalness as a guiding principle in BSM model building, and consider additional constraints such as anomaly cancellation, asymptotic freedom/safety, vacuum stability, and unification of fundamental couplings. We find that while these constraints limit the number of consistent models, the existing models are still in their infancy, highlighting the need for further exploration in BSM model building.

欧阳瑞文(Ruiwen Ouyang),2023年爱沙尼亚国家科学院高能物理和计算物理研究中心(NICPB, Tallinn) 理论物理博士,2018年获吉林大学唐敖庆理科试验班(物理方向)理学学士。2016年至2023年先后任日本名古屋大学、芬兰赫尔辛基大学、加拿大多伦多大学、西班牙格拉纳达大学的访问学者,从事粒子物理唯象学方面的理论研究。发表Phys. Rev., Phys. Lett. B, JHEP等论文七篇。2018年获吉林大学物理学院院长奖学金及唐敖庆班科研实践奖学金特等奖,2022年获爱沙尼亚教育部特等奖学金。主要研究方向为电弱标准模型的自然性问题、超标准模型的构造、真空衰变与大统一理论,并有对撞机唯象学和夸克-轻子味物理方面的相关工作。
